Reading DPS Perception and Velocity files without hardware?

PostFri Sep 04, 2015 4:02 pm

Does anyone know if there is a plugin or driver that allows reading of legacy DPS video files for the Perception and Velocity systems without having the hardware installed? There used to be a free utility that converted them to AVI as well as allowing the raw files to be read via some kind of abstraction codec but that was ages ago for Win NT.

I'm running Windows 8.1 64bit now with both Fusion and Resolve installed. I have a ton of old clips saved in this format that I'd love to sift through for old times sake but never converted them to a more popular codec.

Thanks,
M

Back in the day, dps had a software utility on their website, but since they are no more, probably not going to find it, unless your lucky enough to find someone who has it

Ok since I'm not allowed to post URLs (why I dunno), found this on Creative Cow:

DPS file format is not in EOL. We are supporting it and we have just developed After Effects CS4 and After Effects CS5 plugins to read/write natively Dva and DPS files. These plugins are faster from 3x up to 8x than original AE 7.0 plugin from Leitch.

ivsDPS_IO_Plugins 1.0.0.6 is a set of plugins to get HQ DPS file format I/O for After Effects CS4/ CS5/ CS5.5 / CS 6 and Fusion 5/6 (32 and 64bit)

As far as I know these guys are the place to go to for everything DPS-related. They are still actively working with the files and can surely help you out.
