PostWed Sep 23, 2015 10:44 pm

Was not able to figure out where I can set the frame rate for

- the composition
- and the loaded footage

You could be talking about Fusion, Fusion Studio, Generartion, Connection and so forth, as there are a lot of products within the Fusion suite, It's a valid question on Tony's part.

In the preference, under Global settings, you will see a section called Frame Format. This is were you set your default speed for new comps. You will also see individual comps that are open, and you can override those values for just that comp.

No matter what you view, once cached will now playback at that speed.

Note: this is playback, not render (which doesn't matter for outputting frames)
However, if you are rendering to a codec, you will have to set the speed of desired playback in the format tab of the saver.

The question was originally posted in the "Getting Started" forum, so it was even more confusing.

The playback speed will be affected by your screen refresh. So you can't play back a 24fps comp on a 60Hz monitor smoothly. You can't play a 120fps comp on a 60Hz monitor at all unless you set the step size to 2.

The setting in the Saver's Format tab will default to the comp's framerate, so it's usually OK, but you can override it as you see fit.

Clips in a Loader do not have a framerate. It's 1:1 between the clip frames and the comp frames.
