Filtering Issue with Tracker

PostWed Sep 30, 2015 5:43 am

I have a project where I'm using the Tracker tool for a screen replacement. I tracked the computer monitors in the shot, set the Trackers to 'Corner Positioning,' and piped the screen images into the FG inputs. The only problem is that there is no filter setting for Corner Positioning. The result is that the images only have linear filtering applied. Is there anything that I can do about this?

Turn on HiQ button.

That worked. I should have thought of that, but it didn't occur to me. To my understanding, the HiQ button only affects preview. Renders always use HiQ. Also, there still are no filtering options for Corner Positioning and Perspective Positioning.

No, renders don't have to use HiQ. It's a setting for the user.

Exactly. There are still jaggies present in the render, so it doesn't make sense.

Can you, please, post the image you're trying to insert into monitor? No need in BG footage. Also, what's the size of original footage and the size of the image you're inserting?

I did a quick setup with two types of inserted image (one with just a CornerPin inside a Tracker, and second one with Resize, where I applied filtering). Hope it helps.

Thanks for the sample comp. Here's the original 1920x1200 monitor image. Footage resolution is HD1080.

Well, I did another scene, and I can't see anything unusual. Here is the screenshot and fresh quick comp.

Well, thanks for your help. I do have an anti-aliased result now. The lack of consistency just bugs me.
