Windows 10 + Fusion 6.4

PostWed Sep 30, 2015 8:08 am

Hi all,

I know it's an older version of fusion, but it's what I have to work with for now. Has anyone else been having problems trying to run it on windows 10. It will go through startup and the window is fully drawn and right before it should show a new project file it crashes. Just a simple window message stating fusion has crashed and it will go to the desktop when pressed ok. I have a license server it has to reach, and I'm suspecting that is the problem somehow.
I tried it on a machine with windows 7 (where fusion worked just fine) and upgraded it to 10 and on a vanilla install. Both ways show the same issue, fusion won't fully launch and crash. Tried running as admin and with windows 7 compatiblity mode. All yields the same result.

Anyone has any solutions I'd be more than happy to hear about. Simply upgrading isn't an option at this point in time.

Thanks!

I have no problem with it myself.

some things you can try..

make a backup of the fusion preference file, and remove it from the profile folder. Fusion will create a fresh one on first launch.
Try turning off virus detection and see if that helps (defender)
Also, try running in compatibility mode (right click on icon, compatibility tab) and choose windows 7 or 8
Make sure eyeonscript and eyeonserver are running in the task manager

hopefully one of these works for you

Hi Rony,

Thanks for your suggestions unfortunatly that didn't work out. I also made a mistake, it's actually fusion 6.32 build 1030. If the license is not found it will pop that dialog but when the license is found it will directly show a windows debug window. Tried on 2 different machines with all sorts of scheme's. Admin/compatibility etc etc.

Could you perhaps see if 6.32 works on your side?

Thanks!

Thanks!

Windows 8 support was added in 6.4.
Not sure about windows 10 but this could be the reason it does not work with Fusion < 6.4.

Hi Johan,

I will do this as soon as I have access to that computer again.
