Simple editing within Fu8

As an editor picking up Fusion for fairly simple comping/text animation work, I'm finding that simple shot selection and manipulation to be very clunky.

Trimming shots within loader doesn't appear to have shortcuts, slipping and sliding clips in the timeline, 'splitting' clips like AE doesn't seem possible. I realise nodal is not layers, but the functionality appears to be there, I just can't find the interface to access it.

Also I read about what appeared to be a clip list for a loader (like an EDL) but can't fathom information about it from the help files

Thanks for any pointers in this regard...

Forget about simple editing (in current Loader tool) in Fusion. In my opinion, the only practicable option in Fusion8 (without Generation) is the import of xml (or edl) files exported from Premiere, Resolve, FCP, MC...

I can't figure out any way of getting 'Import EDL' to work from Avid Media Composer. It asks me to point out the media files, the comp and then an option to 'open file' - creates a flow with a loader but seems to point to a random non-extant clip in the path chosen. I've tried Avid native OMF and MXF media, AMA linked OP1a and QT media...

It crashes when EDL points to AMA linked QTs.

doesn't seem to work in Fu8 (some of the built in script functions no longer working).

and Connection doesn't seem to run on OSX, yet.

So is anyone having success importing EDLs and/or XMLs into Fu8?

did you try the new version of the XML import script?
