Rendered Quicktime is 0KB in size

PostWed Dec 02, 2015 9:30 am

Hello,

maybe this is a stupid question but I cannot render to a Quicktime file, the final file size is just 0KB in size, no frames containing. I did a very simple composition with a just fresh installed Fusion 8.0b2 on Mac OS X 10.11.1.

Background -> filmgrain -> saver (Quicktime) -> RENDER 0..100

Resulting file is 0KB in size and has no content.
If I render to an image sequence, everything is alright.

Did I made something wrong?

Had the same thing happen under El Capitan, moved back to Yosemite and all is well. It looks like something went all screwy with El Capitan, not sure what. I did render out uncompressed, played back fine but not in Final Cut Pro, very interesting.

Is it known to Apple?

As chad is implying, it is not a Blackmagic bug, but an Apple OS one.

Thank you and want to apologize if my original post implied otherwise. Going to edit it now.

Any idea if this is fixed in a recent 10.11.2 beta?

Another possibility. I have had this result when saving quicktime files to a drive connected to the network. I thought I had somehow lost network permissions, but have encountered others who have had the same result.
