It says "COMING SOON" on Fusion 8 Studio on the webpage. And so it has for a couple of months now :) it also says that the "URSA mini 4.6" starts shipping in nov and its now dec :D Got to love it...

I predict late Dec/early Jan for the next beta and the final won't be released until March/April, probably after Nuke 10 is released. Just based on how slow this public beta is going and the limited response from the company, although Rony does chime in on occasion but can't provide any insight or forecasting. :(

We'll get there eventually. :)

Well, if they were able to release something now, I'm sure they'd pick up a heap of customers. After Effects CC2015 is just plain unusable. They're on their 2nd patch fix and it's still really bad. The shear frustration would drive people to go with Fusion. ;)

If they were able to release something 12 months ago, they'd have picked up a heap of customers. I think it goes without saying that having a product to sell is essential to selling a product.

But... If you apply that to Adobe, they released a product that's unusable. Did they release it early? If they waited a year to make it faster and more stable, would they have a better product?

I'm sure there's no reason for BMD to NOT release a product as quickly as they can EXCEPT for that they don't want to repeat what Adobe has. Quality of the product is the only thing keeping it from being released. MVP has long since past, they want something better than that.

Yeah, my comment wasn't really regarding the dilemmas of when to release a product, but more about the fact that right now, there are a lot of unhappy After effects customers...and had the stars been aligned it could have been a neat opportunity, with people who might be a little more willing top switch over.

Right, and even if the timing was perfect, there might still be things that are needed to maximize the impact, like training materials, product reviews, plugins, integration with other applications, etc..

None of us (except the people with blue names) can do anything about the release of Fusion 8, but nearly all of us could do something about those other tasks.
