Multiple fonts/styles in the same text node

PostThu Jan 14, 2016 6:34 pm

Is it possible to apply different colors/fonts/styles to separate words/letters within the same text+ tool?

If you use the Character Level Styling modifier, you can adjust those per character.

Oh boy...That's nice.

I've got a project in AE. Later on, I'm going to try to rebuild the whole thing in fusion just to see where the problems might be.

Thanks for your help.

Just bear in mind it is per-character by index. So check you spelling before you go too crazy, or you'll have to adjust the index in the .setting.

I don't know what that means, Chad. Are you saying that if I misspell something, apply the style, then fix the spelling, I will have to reapply the style to the characters I replaced? Is there no way to transfer the style from one character to another?

Correct. If you apply a style to character 25, then add a letter before it, the style will stay on 25, and won't move automatically to 26. You can fix it by changing the index though. There's just nothing in the GUI for that.

What's the index and how do I access it? I've done some internet searches, but nothing very clear comes up.

Hello: I'm new to Fusion and was about to post this same question about multiple styles in Fusion.

I am able to use Helvetica Neue medium and light in one text effect on the Resolve time line. However, the text tool in Fusion only lets me use one style of text - arrgggh

I too am rebuilding a simple lower third that was built in AE into Resolve 15 via Fusion.

Any help would be great. My previous post helped me get the rectangle built with a border.

Thanks + have a great weekend!
Tolbert
