Connection versions

having an issue with the versioning function of Connection. When I create a new version it does make a copy of the current effect with an updated filename. But the modified and rendered new version does not appear in the Avid timeline. It appears as if the effect has not been rendered. The original version does appear unchanged and rendered. What am I missing?
