How to import a matchmover to fusion 8 ??

HI :),

I was using maya's matchmover 2014 and it worked perfectly but when i try to put imported to fusion it didn't work

what did i do wrong??



also, does VOODOO work well with fusion???

Hi,

Can you tell us what exactly happen when you try to use 3d tracking data inside the Fusion? Does it close\exit?

Today I have similar error with Fusion 8.2 Beta on Linux... After getting 3d tracking data in Maya ASCII format (*.ma) from Voodoo Tracker, I've tried to import this data inside 3d camera in Fusion with Import Camera button. And after selecting the MA file, Fusion suddenly closed. In terminal I see such a small info:
Segmentation Error (made of memory dump) - Something like that in English, because original error text was in Russia in my Linux :)

Not sure is it my OS problem or Fusion problem?..

If somebody has any ideas... Let me know. Thanks.

Just additional info...

Same 3d tracking data on Windows OS works fine with Fusion: no exit and 3d camera works OK.

Looks strange :(

HI Dmitri,

when i imported the match-moving files they wouldn't show on the flow panel for absolutely no reason

i imported it in a .maya file and i read it would accept it, but i didn't see anything




I DID SEE SOMETHING HAPPENED!!!!

i imported a file in an FBX format and it showed a camera but now after that im stuck cuz i don't know how exactly does it work to but 3d Geometry in the matchmoving data

Sounds to me more like a export problem from matchmover then a fusion problem.

You can import a FBX scene with cameras, lights and objects with the file->import - >FBX
This will create a whole node graph with all objects from the FBX file

Hi guys,

Just want to report that problem with 3D Camera import disappeared in new Fusion 8.2 beta 2 release!

Works perfect under my Ubuntu 16.04. Thank you very much, guys from Black Magic Design team!

I manage to import it again asan FBX file
Put it doesnt export the point clouds

Only exports camera

And when i go in fusion i can only see the camera in movement but no point cloud, even if i checked it in yhe matchmlver 2p14 software it still foesnt show

What Am i doing something wrong?

I think i kinda got it

I saw in another post from this forum years ago, with the exact same issue

I had to export the matchmove in a maya file
And in fusion create a 3D pointcloud, which i fuess is suppose to be inside the maya file and opened up ince imported, but that is not the case

So i import the camera and 3D pointcloud separatly and they are both in the same comp.

I haven't experimented on it yet, but i will try it ASAP

Please report, I'm trying to get my head around working with 3D in Fusion too.

Actually, the only area where I still don't feel as comfortable in Fusion as with C4D and AE.
No, an iGPU is not enough, and you can't use HEVC 10 bit 4:2:2 in the free version.

Also, do you think that this tutorial is done right if not please point it out, it maybe slow but the info i believe is valuable
