Fusion 6.4 on Windows 10 broken

PostWed Aug 17, 2016 5:46 am

Hi guys,

Well I learnt the hard way that updating Windows 10 to the 1511 Threshold 2 update breaks Fusion 6.4.

Tried setting all versions of Windows in compatibility settings, as well as reinstall. Fusion crashes on startup.

Has anyone solved this?

Hi,

Unfortunately 6.4 won't run on Windows 10.

I won't get into the details of what the actual issue is, but it would need reasonable code changes (that we did for other reasons for 7.0) and a whole new build to work (resurrecting the eyeon build system to even do that).

There's no setting or option, or anything you can change to your system or Fusion configuration to fix it :(

Hi Stuart,

Thanks for the explanation, you guys were always helpful - checking my email I see you were even helping out with a dumb problem I had 16 years ago!

So I finally bought Fusion 8, which feels nostalgic, as a lot of software has come and gone since 1997, but of all the apps I use daily, Fusion is still my happy place.

Let's not talk about Autodesk.

Speaking of nostalgy...
