You have to convert them to image sequences first. Maybe try FFmpeg?

Thanks Chad! I know that, I use kdenlive to export movies to IMG sequence but on Windows we don't have to do that why on Linux?

because in fusion uses the proprietary/original codec implemantions of quicktime and some avi formats, which arent availible in linux.

Not only you can't import any kind of movie you also can't export any kind of it in Linux and here at work is one of the lacking features that is making people start to quit Fusion.

Any idea if or when Blackmagic is going to address this issue?

Why should the users know about plans of BMD? And BMD don't talk about future plans here either

BMD dont talk about future plans in public, so nobody can answer you question if and an when BMD will add video container formats into fusion for linux

Old thread same issue.

Is it still a issue or is it just me?

Even though in the loader menu I can see .mov,.mp4 it doesn't recognize any file on this format, anyone else?

Thanks.
