Timing Offset Groups?

PostThu Jan 19, 2017 10:53 am

Hi,

how can I set the timing offset for a whole goup of nodes without having to move all keyframes in the group?

Let's say:

I created an animation in a comp - let's say appearing a text with an animated frame, duration 25 frames - and saved it.

Now I want to import it to another animation and want this text-animation to start at frame 250.

So I can load the text comp into the longer comp and group all nodes of the text comp.

So far so good, but now the text comp starts at frame 0.

How can I tell Fusion to start this group at frame 250?

The only thing I found is to select all keyframes of all nodes in the text group and move them on the timeline.

Isn't here an easier way - maybe to set and move only one keyframe for the whole group or any other way to tell "Start the animation of the whole group at frame 250" or so?

Thanks for your help.

Peter

The easiest way to achieve this is by placing a timespeed tool after the parts you want to off-set and do your off-setting there. This will leave all original keyframes intact, but will render where needed.

Hi Sander,

thanks a lot.

I found out, I simply can move the whole group on the timeline tab.

So retiming is very easy.

Thanks.

Hey, I could use some help with something similar.

I have a fairly complex warping/distortion effect that I built out on one clip that I want to copy and paste to another. I've tried copying and pasting the whole batch of nodes, as well as a grouped version of it. I've tried selecting the keyframes (which are appearing around 500 instead of 0) and dragging them so they sit under where my media in is on the timeline, but the effect doesn't seem to be propagating.

Solved - for whatever reason the linked media for the displacement map was not linking when the nodes were being copy pasted. Had to bring those back in manually.

Using a transform node modifier data can be used for this purpose as well.
