Purge Cache not working

PostWed Mar 29, 2017 2:53 pm

Hi all,

Using Fusion at our mid sized studio and we're all experiencing the same problem. We used to be able to just right click purge cache but that does not seem to work anymore. It was working up until a couple of days ago. I was hearing complaints from people in studio that it stopped purging cache for them and now it has happened to me. It is with every comp now.

Has anybody else experienced this problem? If so have you found a solution?

thanks in advance

By design, Fusion will not immediately purge the cache. But you should see the memory free up as other processes use it.

Thanks for reply but up till recently it was just purging but now I was getting memory crashes.
We use Sapphire plugins and recently updated them so that might have been the issue. We have just installed an update of theirs so hopefully that will fix the issue.

I'll keep an eye on it and post up findings

got the same problem on one maschine. And the problem still exist after reinstalling the OS.
very strange.
I cant purge manually, after closing a comp, still no ram purged, and the memory limit in the settings is ignored. :/
Sadly i didnt find out, what is differnt on this maschine, to the others , where the problem didnt exist.

We upgraded to latest version of Sapphire plugins (10.1) and does not seem to be an issue anymore.

Hi Les,

I have purge and crash issues with Sapphire 10.1. And I always get console errors.
Code: Select all
Error: com.genarts.sapphire.Render.[effect name] returned kOfxStatFailed for OfxImageEffectActionIsIdentity
Error: com.genarts.sapphire.Render.[effect name] returned kOfxStatFailed for OfxImageEffectActionRender

With Sapphire 9.03, I don't have console errors and crushes. But I seems to have a little purge issue. But Purge cache doesn't work.

I have these issues with Fu7.7.1 and 8.2.1 on win7. What is your environment?

BMD said that Sapphire 10.1 may use the Library that is different version from Fusion. But BMD has no issue with Sapphire. What? I can't understand it.

Purge cache issue still exists with Fu9 and Sapphire 10.1.

Fusion use 80% memory, Purge cache make it 55%. I close the comp, memory usage is still 55%.
Fusion release memory automatically. But with Sapphire it doesn't work too.

BMD say "Ask GenArts", GenArts say "Ask BMD"
