Single Seat Floating License Setup Help

PostTue May 23, 2017 10:24 am

Hi,

We have just bought a single seat of Fusion Studio which is supposed to be a floating license, but I can't seem to get my copy of Fusion to find the dongle on the network.

I have the dongle plugged into one of our license servers, installed the Fusion Render Node and made sure FusionServer (and the service) is running.

If I run the renderslave on my pc, it says Idle, and the about box says it is Enabled by Dongle on Server 10.x.x.x

When I come to run Fusion Studio on my pc, it just says No Dongle Found: Cannot Find License Server.

I have added the environment variable as well (“wks08;10.x.x.x;*") and added exceptions for fusion and fusion server in the firewall, but no joy.

Any ideas? I'm sure we will lose the dongle at some point if we keep having to manually move it around the office :)

Thanks.

Single seat dongles do not float, unlimited Rendernodes will work over the network from that dongle.
You will need that dongle local on the machine you run Fusion from.
