Color Space Workflow setup log and linear

What is your workflow comp set up when you get raw footage (background plates) in log color space and you have animation frames in linear color space and you have to composite them together and output the frames in log?

What output color space would you use as an alternative?

All composites should be linear. You can use the color gamut conversions in the LD and SV to manage that or you can use the Gamut tool.
