Render Notification Script?

PostSat Jun 17, 2017 4:48 pm

Does anyone have a clever render completion notification script? Maybe one that writes a completion summary to a local drive? I have Zapier set up to notify me via SMS when a render completion file gets dropped into a specific Google Drive folder. It's working well with C4D, would love to get it working with Fusion Studio.

Thanks,

this would depend on how you render

you would need a different script for a local rendering, rendering through the rendermanager or if you use any external rendermanager

Welcome to the forum, Chad.

Each Saver can have a script for completion. There's also RunCommand that gives you a quick set of arguments ready to go. Lastly, there's render completion sound events (at least for Windows) that maybe you can tie into with Zapier.

A render notification script is a piece of code that can be used to notify you when a long-running render process is complete. When you render a large video or image file, the process can take a significant amount of time, and it can be helpful to receive a notification when the process is complete, so you can move on to the next task.

There are several ways to create a render notification script, depending on your specific needs and the tools you are using. One common approach is to use a scripting language like Python or JavaScript to create a script that monitors the status of your render process and sends a notification when it is complete.

For example, you could create a Python script that uses the subprocess module to run your rendering application and waits for the process to complete. Once the process is complete, the script can use an email or messaging service API to send a notification to your phone or email.

Alternatively, you can use automation tools like Zapier or IFTTT to create a workflow that monitors your render process and sends a notification when it is complete. These tools allow you to create custom integrations between different applications, including your rendering software and your notification service.

Overall, a render notification script can be a useful tool for managing your rendering workflows and staying productive while you work on other tasks. By automating the notification process, you can save time and avoid having to manually monitor your render processes.
