Image as Light source

PostTue Jun 20, 2017 1:42 pm

Ive tried to find some info on this but what ive found has been rather vague and probably beyond my current Fusion level lol.

I wish to take an HDR image or any hires image for that matter and use that as a source to light my scene. I know it can be done, im just not sure the steps to do it so far without the image becoming a reflection on my models.

any thoughts?
My specs: i7 4770 3.5ghz 32 gigs of ram, windows 10 creators edition, Geforce 770 gpu, asus Z97 MB

AFAIK the only method to do image based lighting is a "hack" /trick
You can sample the image at different points and create a spotlight with the sampled color.
There is a comp/script available that uses that technique.
I will look for the link and repost it later
