Fusion fails to start up on Mac OS 10.11.6

PostFri Jul 07, 2017 2:18 am

I've tried re-installing and rebooting and re-installing, and throwing away prefs and cleaning all traces out of Fusion from the Application Support folder.. Still, Fusion fails to launch.
Doesn't even get to the splash screen.
When i watch the Activity Monitor, FusionServer tries to run.
I did a Show Contents of Fusion, and there was fusion Server. I ran the executable, and it jut kept trying, on different ports i guess.

It's odd, because before we upgraded the Mac to 10.11.6, it ran just fine.
Using Connect between Avid and Resolve worked flawlessly.

Mac Pro (late 2013)
3.5Ghz 6-core
16GB Ram
AMD FirePro D500 3072MB

Any Ideas?

Hello,

I've got the same problem here, just installed fusion for the first time on my Mac, when I launch the app, the icon is jumping then nothing, I don't see the splash screen as well. I have to kill the app that become unresponsive.

OSX El Capitan 10.11.6 (French)

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013)
Processeur 2,4 GHz Intel Core i7
8 Go 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 Mo

Is there anything I can do to see some logs ?

Thanks in advance,

'smo

I've done a Show Contents on the Fusion App, and find the Fusion, and FusionServer exec in the MacOs folder. when i just tried running Fusion from the exec, it seems to get stuck in a loop. That loop using FusionServer. Not sure what this all means, but I'm guessing it's somewhere here that is the issue. (its still going too, trying different 4 number in brackets.)

Unfortunately, i'm in a production environment, and cannot go up to 10.12 yet.

It Works!

Going through all the things it could be..
we had upgraded the OS a few weeks back. Knowing that, i was thinking something got wiped out.

I ended up checking simpler route. The Video Drivers. AMD card. Doesn't need Cuda. so that's all good.
The Blackmagic_Desktop_Video is version 10.4. which is like 3yrs old.
I updated it to the 10.11.6 version, or the latest avail. which is 10.9.3

Re-installed Fusion 8.2.1
It now runs.

Return to Fusion
