noob question about importing svg

PostSat Aug 05, 2017 10:06 pm

Hi,
On the BMD product page there is mentioned that it is possible to import Illustrator files or files from other software,i assume they mean SVG files, although that is not very clear. And that you then can extrude them in 3d.
I can indeed import svg files but i can't find a way to extrude them.
Can someone point me in the right direction please. I use the free version 8 and am using Affinity software to create the svg.

edit: i include screenshot

Jack.

You can extrude shapes using the amazing Krokodove tools. If you have Fusion Studio you can use them.
Here's a video to explain how to do it:

If you're relying on free / open source software, you can extrude SVG's using Blender and import the geometry into Fusion.
Hope that helps.

Thank you,

Yes indeed, to use Blender is the workaround if you have the free version of Fusion.
