Fusion DNG Loader options

PostMon Aug 07, 2017 2:59 pm

There are two versions of processing options for DNG footage in the loader.
In the Format tab - Digital Negative Files - Color Processing you find:
Version 1 is pretty simple and straightforward
Version 2 has a lot more settings

The two of them at default values yield very different results.
Looked at all the manuals from Version 7, 8 and 9 and I can't find anything pertaining to those settings

How does it all relate to the Compatibility setting in Adobe Digital Negative Converter for example

Any insight into this or any DNG workflow in general appreciated
Thank you

Frédéric

Version 2 is the same processing that Resolve does.
Version 1 is pretty much straight from the DNG SDK, and is provided for compatibility with older comps.

I've no idea how it relates to anything that Adobe's raw converter does.

Thank you for that Stuart!

In our tests we were trying to get from a Stop-motion project shot on Sony A7R with .arw files converted to Openexr.
Since there are no path with an adequate IDT either in Resolve, Fusion, Adobe or Nuke, we took the interim step of going through DNG.
The bridge between the photo and video worlds is... to be built.

We finally came across a rawtoaces converter on github that does the job pretty well,
..still experimenting with it.
Good luck to anyone going down this road

Thx
Frédéric
