Bug Report - J2K Saver - Options

PostWed Aug 09, 2017 6:51 am

Hi,
i ran into an refresh Bug with the Saver options if the Output format is Jpeg 2000 with Fusion Studio 8 & 9.

If you change the quality Settings of the j2k Saver to tweak the output file size with changing precision and minimum compression settings, any changes to the settings are ignored until the comp is closed and opened again or purge cache is used (does not always help).

To reproduce:
create a Flow with any input like a fast noise (increase detail and seethe rate) and connect a saver.
change the output to jepg 2000.
default Settings are
precision 16
lossless compression

render a few frames - stop the rendering - do not wait until it finishes.
resulting in j2k files that are about 5 mb at 1920x1080 each

change the saver settings to e.g.
precision 8 and
compression 10

the files should be around 1mb

change the precision and compression settings again and rerender a few frames and you will notice that the settings aren't used / updated for the rendering anymore.

even if you reenable lossless compression, fusion still renders compressed lossy j2k files unless you close and reopen the comp.

this does as far as i notice only happen with j2k output. jpeg or png files are not affected
best regards,
