NVidia Shadowplay and Fusion: A Workaround

If you try to use Shadowplay for a screen recording while Fusion is running, it will quietly refuse to write a file. It says it's recording, but no file appears in the output directory. This only happens if you try to start recording while Fusion is open. If you instead start recording, then start Fusion, it appears to work normally.

Shadowplay was working great for this purpose a few weeks ago; it was their latest update that broke it. I get the same results whether I try Fusion 8 or 9.

Hi Bryan,

as a workaround you could try MSI Afterburner instead of Shadowplay. It has a Screen Recording module.

I think it works on both, NVidia and Radeon. And It's free.

there are two software programs that do the best screen recording out there. They are both on steam: Action and litecam100fps

try OBS and make sure you have NVENC encoding enabled - should work as using shadowplay (so you won't get a massive performance hit). IMO in most of the cases the best solution out there.
