Render Manager not working on Linux

PostFri Aug 18, 2017 8:14 pm

I have just noticed this weird bug on both Fusion 8 and Fusion 9 on Linux Mint 18.2. Whenever I try using the Render Manager, by checking 'Batch Render' in the render dialog, the job doesn't get submitted at all to the manager.

If I open the Render Manager, and add the comp manually, it appears in the Queue, but it doesn't get rendered. Am I missing something here? Is there a way to submit my comps for batch rendering on Linux?
System specs:
Resolve Studio version: 16.1.0.055
Fusion Studio version: 9.0.2
OS: CentOS 7
CPU: Intel i7-4790k 4GHz Quad-Core
RAM: 32GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 1080 Ti 11GB

I figured out the problem.. Starting Fusion normally, means that Fusion Server doesn't have the root privileges that it needs for the batch rendering to be enabled. Currently, the workaround for me is to start Fusion using
Code: Select all
sudo /opt/BlackmagicDesign/Fusion9/Fusion
System specs:
Resolve Studio version: 16.1.0.055
Fusion Studio version: 9.0.2
OS: CentOS 7
CPU: Intel i7-4790k 4GHz Quad-Core
RAM: 32GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 1080 Ti 11GB
