Pull out specific Color

PostFri Sep 22, 2017 4:55 pm

Hey there,

How might i go pulling out this orange hue? I'd like to blend it with the other yellow tones somehow, otherwise, I'll be painting these out in photoshop. Is it possible?

Hi Lauren.

Do the following:

1 - use a Chroma Key tool to select the orange. In the Matte tab, select "Invert Matte". This will generate a mask just with the orange parts of your image

2 - pipe the output of the Chroma Key node to the mask input of a Color Corrector node. Adjust in a way that the saturated oranges become pale yellows like the rest.

Alternatively, you can change the Color Corrector node by a Merge node with the Apply Mode set to "Color". If you want to try this alternative, please let me know and I can provide an example.
