Render compression?

PostTue Sep 26, 2017 3:45 pm

Hi Guys,

First of all, thank you very much for this wonderful tool that Fusion is !
I'm pretty new to 3D and compositing, but I'm trying to learn Fusion and Blender.
I managed to do a quick scene in Blender with a camera following a road texrured with PBR textured.
I exported it in alambic mode and I imported it in Fusion witjout any problems.
The only issue I'm having is that th quality of texture I have in the viewer is much more better than the one I get after rendering the scene. I'm rendering in TGA, so I must have a good quality. I also unchecked the "compress" box in the format setting section of the saver. But I'm still having the same problem.
Here's a screen capture of the viewer:

And here's the result after rendering:

It doesn't seem to be a motion blur issue. It's really like if the texture got a jpeg compression when rendering. Really strange.

What am I missing?

Thank you for your help :)

Looks like a drop in Resolution on the diffuse and bump maps to me. Have you checked the render dialogue is set to high quality?

Hi Kel!

Thanks for your help.
I think it is already set to HQ, is it not?

That looks fine.

What happens if you render EXR? It doesn't look like motion blur but do you have it enabled?

If I render in EXR the problem is exactly the same. I checked and unchecked both HiQ and MB boxes (not knowing wether there were initially activated or not!) at the bottom of the interface to see if it had any effect, and it didn't.

So, I really don't know what's going on here.

Are you rendering in Open GL or software mode?
And is it possible for you to share the scene, so we can check it out on our own equipment.

Hi!

Sorry for the delay, I've been away.
I am rendering in software mode.
I'm using Fusion under linux, and the strange thing is that I opened the project on MacOs and it doesn't look the same.
It's a lot darker, as if one of the light wasn't working. Really strange.
Here's the project with the needed files.
