Fusion 9 crashing in OSX 10.13

PostTue Oct 03, 2017 5:15 am

Crash Report:

Fusion 9.0.1
OSX 10.13

1. Add Tool/IO/Loader
2. From dialog select Device/(some device)
3. Navigate down a directory or two
4. Select the go-back-up-a-directory drop-down
5. Select a directory and watch Fusion crash (every time)

I would have to assume something this basic is due to lack of testing under High Sierra, right?
Sadly, not being able to navigate a file system with the loader is in the Epic Fail Dept...

Anyone else get this happening?

,, mark.

Tech crap follows:

Looks like Qt5 is dropping its load...

An update (of sorts).

I reverted to OSX 10.11.6 (El Capitan), reinstalled Fusion 9.0.1 (after a complete search-and-destroy of all the leftover cruft the uninstall left behind), and retested. Same result: Qt is dropping its bundle on the tree widget.

Can anyone confirm this behaviour? Just play around with the Loader's file picker on OSX and it either will, or will not, die.

This one seems so basic...

Im having the same problem in OS X 10.12.16.

After updating graphics drivers I was able to at least pick a file in the loader..
Crashes when doing any colour correction.

Whaoo... No mocking or sort of, but reading all those topics about Fu 9 crashes makes feel better about my choice to stay on 8 studio.
First it was because of current projects, then for laziness reasons, but it looks like several OSes are impacted, including mine (ElCap). (and "(SIGSEGV)" is never a good piece of news)
Hope you will fix it...

BTW, did you ever try to disable SIP ? (reboot in recovery mode [boot + R], open terminal and type
Code: Select all
csrutil disable
then
Code: Select all
reboot
.
Don't think it's connected but in case Fu 9 has QT modify anything in locked places...

Hey Sam,
hmm, can not confirm this.
Mac Pro Late 2013
macOS 10.12.6 (16G29)
Fusion 9.0.1 build 3
    - Insert Loader, Open dialog appears
    - Select a disk from "Devices"
    - Step into folder, subfolder, ...
    - Use "Go Back Up" popup
    - Choose folder e.g. 2 levels up
    - From there step into different folder, and subfolder, ...
Works as expected here.

I found that the crash was being caused by an unsupported OFX plugin. Which 100% should not cause a crash. it should just NOT LOAD. :-) .
