Cinema 4D to Fusion

PostTue Nov 14, 2017 1:53 pm

Hi,

what is the best way the export a camera and some null objects (to be used with a 3d locator tool) from cinema 4d and import them properly in fusion? I've tried various settings of Alembic and FBX but nothing worked so far...

Thanks in advance.

Use Alembic to get the camera from c4d to Fusion. I have yet to get nulls to transfer over to fusion from c4D. As a work around i've placed small planes in the position of the nulls.

For the cameras to line up, the imported alembic camera in Fusion needs the film back to manually be set to "Resolution Gate Fit = Width"

cool, that works, thank you. do you know if there's a way to keep the camera dynamic though so that it basically updates whenever you override the Alembic with an adjusted version? Or do you have to every time import the Alembic scene again and replace the camera in this case?

Right now fusion bakes the camera animation at the import and does not reference to the original file
