Fusion 9 Linux h264 codec issues [Solved]

PostSun Nov 19, 2017 11:02 am

Using Fusion Studio 9.0.1 on Ubuntu 17.10

Importing of h.264 movies worked but suddenly it stops working!

When I drag and drop a h.264 mp4 file, it does not create a loader anymore.
When I create a loader by hand, I can select a video, but it does not play, the output in the Fusion console is:
Code: Select all
Loader1 failed at time 0

When I start Fusion from Terminal and then drag and drop a movie of this kind, following error appears:

Code: Select all
ERROR: Could not find header partition pack key, in mxf_reader.c:576
ERROR: 'init_mxf_reader_2(&newMXFFile, GetDNxHRCompressedFrameSizeCallback, dataModel, reader)' failed, in mxf_reader.c:542
ERROR: 'open_mxf_reader_2(filename, GetDNxHRCompressedFrameSizeCallback, dataModel, reader)' failed, in mxf_reader.c:496
Failed to open MXF reader

I once had this issue before on Ubuntu 16.04, after reinstalling the whole system it worked again.
But for now I am not interested in reinstalling the system again nor in converting all my videos to DNxHD.

Already tried with reinstalling Fusion.

Any help on this one?
Anyone else having same issues?

Big thanks in advance!

I figured out a solution to the problem:

The problem was caused by executing
Code: Select all
sudo apt autoremove

so here the solution:

Code: Select all
sudo apt install libavcodec-dev libavformat-dev libswresample-dev libavresample-dev libswscale-dev

Code: Select all
sudo ldconfig

Hi, Im running fusion 9 on a bunsenlabs and I have found no way to import .mp4, mov or any actual videofile to the program, I almost gave up but you stated that you can do that, now the solution you stated didnt work as the console prompted :

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libswresample-dev : Depends: libavutil-dev (= 7:3.2.10-1~deb9u1~bpo8+1) but 6:11.12-1~deb8u1 is to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
the question is, how did you managed to load and work with .mp4 (or any other type of video in a linux plataform?

You have broken packages, so first fix your system or google for help.

I would try:
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get autoremove
sudo apt -f install
sudo dpkg --configure -a

Then try again installing as describe in post #2

Man! this really saved me today, don't know how my packages got damage but after reinstalling it I can load .mp4 files again and even the ffmpeg export is working which wasn't in the past! thanks!
