Loader1.Clip.TimeCode does not work for me.

Will someone with the knowledge please offer the expression needed to display source time code of a clip using the Text+ node.

thanks

I know that there's a procedural way, but can't remember the expression right now, but a quick - manual - solution for this is using the Time Code Modifier in the Text+ node.

Just right-click on your Styled Text field and select modify with--> Timecode

This will give you a modifier. In the start off-set you can type in your time code in time code format i.e. 11:09:37:12 and Fusion will convert this to the correct amount of frames. Make sure you set the fps to the correct amount and you're good to go.

Try this:
Text(Loader1.Output.Metadata.TimeCode)

I was looking for that, but I couldn't find it in the manual and I keep forgetting how to find the expression-expressions that are available for any given tool.

I tried

==ActiveTool:GetAttrs()

But couldn't find that one, when I ran it on a loader (with timecode)

I'll admit I went back to VFXPedia for it. There's still quite a lot of stuff in there that never made it to the manuals.

Burn in TC source timecode

PostTue Dec 12, 2017 9:21 am

Thanks for your kind help Bryan, i've edited this for the next person who needs the feature;

Create text+ node.
Right click in the blank 'Styled Text" area and choose "Expression", an empty expression field appears.
Enter"Text(Loader1.Output.Metadata.TimeCode)" into the expression field.

NB. Ensure that "Loader1" in the above example matches the name of the loader node that timecode is required from.
