Fusion Connect from Resolve - MOV files locked

Hello,

I'm using Fusion (v9.0.2) with Resolve Studio (14.2.1.007) to create simple text graphics at 1080p. I set the New Fusion Connect Clip format to be uncompressed Quicktime, create the clip, render in Fusion and it comes back OK to Resolve.

Now I come to edit it again in Fusion but the render fails. There are a fair few posts about this and it seems that Fusion or Resolve is locking the MOV file so it can't be updated. It's not practical to quit Resolve, delete the file, and re-render. I know image files don't have that problem but I've purposely moved away from them for another reason.

Has anyone found a solution to this?

Thanks.

i haven't tried the newest versions yet, but the way I've gotten around it is to create a new connect version in resolve. then when you go to re-render, the file name will be different.

I guess that's a workaround, but I usually have so many revisions per clip it'd get cumbersome.

There *must* be a solution somewhere?

I've had issues with Fusion Connect, mov's and failed rendering, but that was because Fusion didn't have anything selected in the Savers compression setting. So check that you have the right compression selected.

Uncompressed QuickTime?? Do you really need this? I have very fluid roundtripping on windows using dnx media. I used to get lock ups like you describe but I can render, tweak, rerender again many times with no issue). My old work around was to use dpx, but like uncompressed that will slow you down with the disk read/writing.

Hey,
Don't have this problem; I can edit FC files in Fu by choosing this from Resolve as much as I need... My choice is ProRes but I don't think it counts.
If I meet that lock problem I'll report here

Edit : ah ok sorry, seems to be a Win trouble, I'm on mac
