You can do both of those things without having to wait for the next release. The Hotkey editor is under the View menu. It's a little confusing to use it, but you can certainly set hotkeys to tools.
You can set an alias for a tool by making a macro out of it. In fact, we at Muse VFX did the exact thing you request with Reduce Noise—put it into a macro called NeatVideo. To make a macro the easy way, right-click on it and choose Macro > Create Macro. Give it a name you like at the top, and (this part is tedious) check the boxes beside every control. The tool made in this fashion will have all of its controls in a single tab, but it can be touched up in a text editor if you want to put the tabs back.
