Fusion 9.xx on Windows 7 x64 Ultimate

PostFri Mar 30, 2018 9:58 am

I am trying Fusion for the first time and it states in the manual that Fusion 9 requires Windows 8 and above. (I have not been able to find the download link for free version of Fusion 7.7).

Is it possible to run Fusion 9.xx on Windows 7 x64 Ultimate?

I have it on a W7 VM and it fires up - wondering if it can be installed on a W7 production machine?

Yes, it can be installed. And most of the time it will run, but sometimes it will not. Or it will behave erratically. There is a reason that the requirements are what they are. I don't know the technical side of it, but you can just give it a try and see if it will work with the kind of projects you want to use it for.

We run 9.0.2 on Windows 7 Pro at Muse with only a few minor problems. We find occasional crash conditions, and there are a couple of script commands that don't work correctly. By and large, it seems to work well enough. It did take some time to find the exact graphics driver versions that would work best for both Fusion 9 and Redshift.

My box is dual Xeon E5-2690 v2
64GB RAM
dual Titan X, driver version 388.13

Thank you for your answers.

[[[If Fusion v.7.x.x is not available to download]]]

--> never mind, I found the download for Fusion 7.xx at the Support center. I'll try this one first as it is made to work with Windows 7. I'm a noob at compositing so I do not need the latest software for initial testing.

The purpose is learning a little compositing to see if it's something I want to work with.

My test box is:

Windows 7 x64 Ultimate
i3-4130
16 GB ram
GeForce GTX 960 4GB - driver version 391.35

I had the NVidia driver version 388.xx installed and it was crashing my 3d app [Newtek Lightwave 3D 11.06] so had to upgrade to the latest driver.

Hi to everybody...

Today I've encounted a very strange issue....

I needed to do a clean installation of the OS (windows 7 pro SP1) on my workstation...

before that, Fusion 9 works perfectly....after the reinstallation, it stopped working...

I can install it, but when i try to launch it, it freeze with a black window and it not respond.....

Davinci resolve works perfectly, Fusion....not :(

GPU drivers are updated of course

My gpus are a Quadro M4000 as viewport and two Quadro P4000 fro gpu computing.
