Using underlay node

PostTue May 22, 2018 11:42 pm

Underlay node is really useful for grouping parts of the comp. But its not easy to recolour or rename them due to the fact that they select all the contained nodes.

How does everyone here set them?

If you select the node itself, it doesn't appear in properties so i'm using the right click to set name and set colour of the node. But if i do this with nodes inside, it tries to rename and recolour all the contained nodes at the same time.

Only solution i've found is to pull out all the nodes, rename and recolour the underlay and then put all the nodes back in. Its a bit long winded though. Couldn't see any more tips in the manual, is there any tricks to rename/recolour without moving all the nodes out of it first?

Thanks

Alt-click it to select just the Underlay.

Never knew this. I resorted to renaming with a quick console entry. Alt-click is much better.
Thanks Bryan.
