Personally for chatting and real-time stuff I prefer Discord. I wish it had streams like Slack that would allow for off message convos to keep things clean but this stuff is mostly casual, not corporate. I also like having one account and hooking into multiple servers that syncs across apps than multiple accounts per Slack instance.
At the end of the day the purpose these server hold is a complimentary role to the forums. They’re great for quick responses and simple solutions, but the forums always have the real knowledge base. I run the Redshift Discord server and its done quite well and is a nice way to talk/get help while working before needing technical support.
Cheers,
Mike
