Tool for changing color of rectangle

Hey everyone,

I just started using Fusion. Coming from FCPX/Motion I try to switch to Resolve/Fusion , mainly because of that beauty beast called Fusion.

How can I change the color of an rectangle that I created with the rectangle node?
I tried all the color tools, and some more, but with no luck.

You created just a mask. Connect it to the colored background. The way it works.

Unfortunately I think it’s Not a mask.
Under Tools you find a rectangle node. This one dös Not connect to a BG

A mask is just a tool in Fusion. A masking tool. You need to connect it to another tool for it to do anything meaningful. Sergey is right. Follow his advice

Uuuups. Simple absolut beginner mistake!
I tried to connect the BG-Tool to the rectangle Tool.
Its the other way around.
