Lightning effects in Fusion

PostMon Jun 11, 2018 8:32 pm

Hey Guys,

I use to use After Effect and it has a lightning plugins that was pretty realistic looking. Is there a similar plugin on Fusion or is there a good tutorial that can create a similar effect. I don't want to subscribe to Adobe Cloud for that one effect. Thanks.

Like a Tesla coil discharge. Here a Nuke plugin that does something similar.

Hi thomascheng.

StatixVFX created a tutorial on how to create 3D lightning and plasma like effects inside of Fusion's 3D system:

The Fusion comp file can be downloaded from the StatixVFX GitHub repository here:

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. This looks like it'll work. Hopefully it works in Fusion 9.

Thanks, it's cool, but not the kind of look I'm after.
