"ConFusion" with: Polygon/Media/CC - What am I doing Wrong?

Con... fusion?
Surely I'm not the first one to come up with that (clears throat, taps mic) is this thing on?

Macbook Pro Retina - 2015
High Sierra 10.13.6
Recovering After Effects User

So I have:

Polygon /Media in 1/ ColorCorrector \
_____________________________________\
_____________________________________ Merge-------Media Out 1
_____________________________________/
__________________Media in 2 /

Media 1 is a still (freeze frame of same footage).
I need to be able to use ColorCorrector on the foreground masked area of the still.

PROBLEM: If I make any adjustments to the Color Wheel, Hue, Saturation or Gain -- Everything is fine. (Image 1). BUT -- When I adjust anything else it affects the whole image, foreground dot and background (Image 2).

There should be a pre-divide/post-multiply checkbox under the options-tab. It should be checked. (At least it's that way with standalone Fusion)

ahhh thanks so much Frank.

I'd overlooked that button as it wasn't available on the few other nodes I'd assembled and -- it looks a bit like the highlight button in the Color Page, so I'd dismissed it. I see that's the Effects Icon now.

I'm sure this is one of those micro-discoveries that will accelerate my learning curve since it's highlighted another nook/cranny to search when I'm stuck, and on a larger scale, more about how the app thinks and orders operations.

Thanks again!
