can't playback vids at > 30 fps

Hi, I pretty new to fusion and got the free version like 1-2 weeks ago and am still learning how to use it.

Since a lot of the animation that I do is at 60 fps, the problem is pretty annoying.

Also, this is the case for whatever frame rate I have the project set at. If the frame rate of the both the video and the project is more than 30 fps, Fusion will slow down the playback of the video to 30 fps.

I've tested this with multiple different mp4s but not other video formats. What's wrong and how do I fix it? Maybe it's a hardware problem like not enough RAM?

Well, it could have to do with your hardware specs, but since you don't list them, it's difficult to find out. ;)

Intel i5 7300 CPU

8GB RAM

NVIDIA GTX 1050 GPU

hope that helps

That's not a lot of RAM for a 60 fps playback of any substance. Even though MP4s are compressed, Fusion 'unpacks' them to work with, so it fills up your memory quite quickly. Maybe that's part of your problem.

But idk if that explains why it's running at 30 fps specifically and not stopping at something more random like 27 or 34 fps

Your comp may be set to 30fps.

Composition? Like a setting in the program?

That may have been the problem and I just forgot to look at that setting. Maybe I did and it wasn't working before but now it is. Thanks for helping!

It's fixed for now, although my computer is having a little trouble playing back the video at 60fps, especially when it's caching, probably because of my lack of ram
