VR support in DaVinci Resolve 15.1.1 Fusion / Studio

PostWed Oct 03, 2018 7:56 pm

I just chatted with Blackmagic tech support and they can't confirm the VR features supported by Fusion stand alone or Fusion as included in DaVinci Resolve 15.1.1 Studio.

I looked at the Manual and the description of Fusion / VR is minimal.

Is anyone currently using Fusion / DaVinci Resolve 15.1.1 for VR and what support does it have?
Optical Flow stitching?
rotation / crop / composition of multiple clip in VR360?
Stereo VR editing
Ambisonic Audio?
VST plugins for VR Audio?

Do the VR nodes that convert support equirectangular to cube map AND vice-versa? for 3D stereo?

Not a big fan of reverse engineering tech spec for software ;)

For my part, I use fusion for the integration of 3D in my VR realization. You really have to be creative and make a lot of error attempts. By creating your own nube suite it is possible to come up with a lot of solutions. But the tools are much simpler for the standard 360 video in Adobe Premiere.

Try Andrew Hazelden over on the We Suck Less forum, he is a Fusion VR guru and wrote a whole lot of now free tools to help with the workflow.
