YUV 422 chroma sub-sampling - ? bug

PostSun Oct 21, 2018 3:51 pm

Testing the free version of Fusion 9 (stable version 9.02 build 5, 20 Dec 2017) to see how it handles 'pass-through' YUV 422 chroma sub-sampling, there's something dodgy going on that impacts the red channel in Uncompressed 10-bit YUV 422 (v210) exports:

This was using checkerboard test pattern clips (Rec709 ProRes_4444 and ProRes_HQ 10bit 422) created with Natron. Download links here:

And all I did there was a simple Loader > Saver node "Pass-through" operation. All Saver node color space settings left at default 'Auto'. Those are the scope profiles produced when the v210 and r210 exports were imported into Resolve 15.1.2.

? Bug in spatial filtering.

Edit: Same behavior in 9.02 build 15.
