Attaching a track to a mask? Anyone?

PostTue Apr 23, 2019 3:55 pm

I've looked all over the place, but can't seem to squeeze out an answer. Can anyone point me to a technique that enables me to track a mask to a subject in a shot?

Thanks in advance.

After performing your track, make a mask tool of your choice, right click the Center control and Connect To > Tracker > Unsteady Position. Then draw the spline. The Center control will handle the tracked translation, leaving the spline animation for adjustments.

OMG! I knew there had to be a way. Can I connect it to a Planar Tracker?

The Planar Tracker doesn't export any data, so to use that you'll have to create a Planar Transform and pipe the mask through that node, as though it were an element.

Hi Todd,

Here's a visual explanation of what Bryan said. It's a tutorial I did earlier. It should be findable on this forum somewhere as well.
