I found one way where it isn't crashing. If I change the RendererType_control in the Render_node to "OpenGLRenderer" instead of "SoftwareRenderer" it works.
I feel like I'm getting stability issues with GPU acceleration. When I turn it off things seems to be more stable, but obviously slower. Hoping it is just a diver issue. I'm also using an AMD card instead of a Nvidia card. Gamer/Desktop class, and not Radeon Pro, Quadro, or workstation class.
