Planar Transform Deletes Keyframed Pattern?

PostWed Aug 28, 2019 8:20 pm

Hi all!

So...

1. I have a Planar tracker, where I tracked a surface.
2. I did a Trim To End to get rid of the bad tracking data for the last 5-7 frames.
3. Then I manually keyframed the pattern position for those last few frames.
4. Created Planar transform

For some reason those keyframed pattern positions data are not there in the Planar Transform.

Thanks!

What you added keyframes to is the tracking polygon. These keyframes aren't part of the track—they're just for the polygon. The Planar Tracker does not currently have any mechanism for adding manual keyframes to its tracking data. You'll need to use an additional Transform tool to do your final manual adjustment.

Thanks Bryan, but that makes me sad :-(

There should have been a way to include all the adjusted keyframed data of the polygon in the Planar Transform. Just as After Effects adds the tracking data (adjusted or not) to a null object.

I'll use the additional transform to adjust that. Thanks for the tip!

Handy tip: If you don't actually need the advantages the planar tracker gives you, just use the point tracker. Fusion's ordinary, classic Tracker node is not the black box that the Planar Tracker is, and it's a lot less likely to randomly fail.
