Particle System Performance Sanity Check

PostSun Sep 08, 2019 12:30 am

Hey crew! First time poster, import from Premiere and after effects and really impressed with the performance of resolve and fusion so far.

Question I have a brand new 3900x build with a 2080 (not ti) and 32gb of 3600 ddr4. I'm working on a stinger intro with probably a 4 second reveal of two different PNG files. There are particle systems on both that are set to around 8000 particles each and the playback is absolutely horrendous in both fusion and edit mode. Is this expected or am I missing something in the platform for speeding up particle performance?

Thanks in advance.

Not necessarily. Fusion has never been intended as a realtime solution for particles etc.
In Fusion you render.
