Ultrastudio 4K Mini and DV 12.9

There has been overwhelming instances of failed firmware updates here with this version of Desktop Video. On both Mac and Pc for which I demonstrated a firmware regression as the only solution. Yet there is no update nor acknowledgement from BMD of an issue; despite repeated contacts with support.

My question therefore is twofold: Has anyone successfully been able to update the Ultrastudio 4K Mini, to DV 12.9? And is there an imminent update for this driver? I am stuck on DR 18.6.6 and I would like to take advantage of the really useful AI improvement in 19. Thanks.

I guess not then. Pull your finger out BMD and get this sorted!

Made an attempt to roll back to DV 12.8.1 from DV12.9 but that did not fix the issue at hand.
The Ultrastudio 4K Mini is bricked. Power is running through it, but no life.

In the meantime I contacted the Support Team in UK and with they're kind help was able to unlock the US 4K Mini from deep sleep as you pointed out with Terminal.

You're welcome, Giona, glad you got it sorted! Now Support are giving out this advice let's hope an updated DV, is imminent.

I had hopes with the release of Desktop Video 14.0, but, alas, the firmware failed to update with that version, too, on macOS 14.4.1 and 14.5.

The only upside is that this error didn't brick the UltraStudio and rolling back to 12.8.1 works without having to restore the old firmware.

Same issue for me here.
My Ultrastudio was working fine until I naively thought the last update of Desktop Video would be optimized to work with last DR 19b3.
I'm on Windows 11, and right after the required restart, Desktop Video asked for updating Ultrastudio firmware. Progress bar went to about 80% then failed.
Retried twice (with machine restart) without success.
Now my Ultrastudio is just a dead brick.
What is your advise, guys ? Does downgrading Desktop Video back to 13 would get my Ultrastudio back to life?

update to my previous post: I used the command line hack to solve the issue.
