Multiple DeckLink recorders not working on 10.6.5

Do you have questions about Desktop Video, Converters, Routers and Monitoring?

Multiple DeckLink recorders not working on 10.6.5

PostTue May 03, 2016 3:00 pm

Hi I was using Desktop Video 10.4.3 on Centos Linux to capture input from two DeckLink Mini Recorders at the same time. FFmpeg saw each of them as "DeckLink Mini Recorder (1)" and "DeckLink Mini Recorder (2)".

After switching to Desktop Video 10.6.5 they are both showing up as "DeckLink Mini Recorder" and I can only access one of them via FFmpeg.

Is it still possible to use both cards at the same time?

Go back to old driver. Newer doesn't mean better at all (quite often t's opposite). If something works fine than don't update because there is a new version.
Does new version give you any additional functionality/feature?

Yes, I was seeing some issues with the Decklink Mini Recorder dropping frames and causing buffer overflows in FFmpeg. Since this version specifically says "Fix drop frame issue on DeckLink Mini Recorder and DeckLink Micro Recorder" I wanted to give it a try.

I don't think ffmpeg support for BM is very polished, neither BM drivers itself :)
