Building a PC for DaVinci Resolve

This is my first post and I'd like to pick your brain for a PC I am building for editing and colour grading. The spec I am getting is below -

2nd Hard Disk - 4TB WD BLACK 3.5" WD4004FZWX, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64MB CACHE (7200rpm)

3rd Hard Disk - 6TB SATA-III 3.5" HDD, 6GB/s, 7200RPM, 128MB CACHE

I will use the machine mainly for editing and compositing. I am a new user on DaVinci Resolve. I wonder if this will be sufficient to run RAW UHD footage?

I think you'll need better storage than that.

You will get more power out of a threadripper build than an x299 build.

Personally, I would use an SSD for the OS drive. It will save you a lot of time overall waiting for things to load. For media storage, you may want to go with a Thunderbolt DAS array of some kind.

I have a similar build. it rocks. but take advantage of the X299's two M2 slots and get two of the newer M2 SSD's. very fast , especially for your OS.
I also recommend liquid cooling. corsair, hydro-series-h100i-v2-extreme-performance-liquid-cpu-cooler
