Media Express won't import MXF/XDCAM files. DaVinci Resolve will do the job.

MEDIA EXPRESS will only import those formats which you can capture to (you can see list in settings).
It's fairly basic app.

I am trying to use the decklink to do play to a list of videos. I need to import those first using the DaVinci Resolve, and then, use the Media Express to do play??

Just use Resolve as your playback device as well.

Import your clips, select them all, and right click "create timeline from selected clips"

Go the the edit page, rearrange the clips in the order you want and hit play.

I would think of media express as a capture program first and foremost, not a timeline/playback device.
Yes it can playback what it captures, but as has been pointed out, its a pretty rudimentary program.

Resolve costs just as much,(free) and has the features you need for xdcam files.

Ive been running win 7 for years...new version works, just not officially supported because bm wont test it.

It will give you issues (any cersion...any os) if your cuda and display drivers are not up to date

I am finally done.

I was using the wrong files *.mxf discrete audio and video.

Now testing with *.mxf single file I can have audio and video in DaVinci Resolve.\

Medialooks Direct Take was the best choice. Too bad it's not there anymore.

Well, the Direct Take is still there, and you can still download it:
