LTO vs. HDD

PostThu Mar 22, 2018 2:53 pm

Hi guys

Whats is your take on HDD vs LTO? LTO 7 really seems to offer much for the price. What do you use for archiving?

Do you think 1 HDD and 1 LTO will be suffiecient or rather 2 HDD for Backup and 1 'offshore' LTO?

Cheers

I always recommend the 3-2-1 backup rule when possible. Three copies of the data, two different media (tape and HDD is fine), one copy offsite.
